During these very difficult times, some of the families living in our local community are struggling to have enough food to eat. At Harvest time, our school community shared what they had in order to support our brothers and sisters in need. Our Chaplains helped to gather in our Harvest – nearly 250kg of food! During our Harvest Liturgy, we heard the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand. Through the generosity of our school family, we have followed in Jesus’ footsteps and helped to feed many, many people by sharing what we have.
Here is what some of our students said about the experience of collecting food for those in need:
It has made me appreciate my food more because some people don’t have anything to eat.
It made me feel sad because I was thinking about the people who didn’t have food.
It has made me think to give more to the food bank.
