Our fantastic Chaplaincy Team planned, wrote and led the whole school in a liturgy around the theme of love.
The Chaplains asked the school to sit in a heart shape, around a focal point covered in red hearts, so that everyone was enveloped in the theme.
The liturgy began with the song “Fill me up Lord” which talks about God’s love for us through the Holy Spirit.
We then heard this scripture, again, chosen by the Chaplains:
Abbie then told us that this scripture tells us that love is the most important thing. She linked this to the story of St Valentine, who also put love above everything else, even the law.
Josh then invited us all to show love to the people around us by giving them a smile, a high five or a hug. The children loved this!
Matilda gave us our mission:
|Your mission is to go home and over half term, teach your family the story of St Valentine and to show love to everyone, even when we get cross or upset.|
After saying our end of day prayer, we finished with the song “You’ve got to love them”.
