Luke 9: 11 – 17

‘Then He took the five loaves and the two fish…He broke them and handed them to His disciples to distribute among the crowd.’

Knowledge is a Holy Spirit. It might sound very simple but you’ll often hear people say “knowledge is power”. When you take the time to learn about the world around you, you can start to see just what God has created for us. When you learn something new you grow as a person. Think this week about how much you learn at school and what you can learn this week.

Your mission this week is to take the time to ask a question or read a book and improve your knowledge.

We have been improving our knowledge and skills in class so that we can grow. We think about how our learning teaches us skills for later in life. We have been working really hard in our lessons, including maths (and times tables) and collages (and drawing), we have been reading more to reach our target (including comprehension and going to the library), working hard in English, improving spelling, listening to teachers and learning new words in grammar. We have been developing our personal knowledge that we want to increase, like learning how to play the piano and keyboard, being kinder to others and learning how type.

In 6B, following on from the exploration of the Mission in the morning’s liturgy, the children realised on Monday afternoon that they had learnt something new in their RSE lesson and that, prior to this, they had not known some of the vocabulary associated with reproduction. The children also, as part of this week’s Circle Time, reflected on what they would like to do when they are older. They had to listen carefully to their partner and feedback on what they would like to do. As a part of this, the children considered the type of skills and qualifications they would need for different jobs – recognising that for some professions, an apprenticeship is more suitable than a university degree. The children had high aspirations, with children considering the path they would need to take to be doctors, bloggers and HGV drivers.
