In mission circles discuss a change that we could make at Holy Cross to enable us to follow our mission statement and our Golden Rules more faithfully.

In our Liturgical Prayer this week, the two young people leading us, showed us a wonderful video clip featuring lots of random acts of kindness. They encouraged us to think about how we (like Zacchaeus) can make a change (becoming more Chrsit like) and show God’s love to those around us. In Circle Time tomorrow, the children will link the theme of ‘change’ with ‘remembrance’ and will identify strategies they can use to help themselves (and others) when they face changes that cause sadness – for example, loss and grief. In our Mission Circles this week, we have thought about the impact little changes could have a positive impact on our school community – for example, if whenever we see someone feeling sad and lonely, we ask them to join our game.
This week we thought about how we could make changes to make the world a better place. These could be little changes or changes we could make over our lives.
In assembly, we discussed being humble and how you can only be truly great by serving others.
In class, we experienced a guided meditation lectio divina where we encountered Christ through our imaginations.
In mission circles, we talked about the changes we could make at Holy Cross. We thought about planting flowers, walking to school and litter picking to help the environment. Changing behaviour by listening more to others. Following the golden rules and SMART and LEARN. This linked to holiness – being more like Jesus by being kind, putting others first and serving them.
