The Kingdom of God is a place of peace, justice, and love. It is a place where everyone is welcome and everyone is loved. The Kingdom of God is not a place that we will find on a map, but it is a way of life that we can work towards building in our own lives and in the world around us.

In Year 6, we have talked this week about how we can make our commnity more like the kingdom of God. The children reflected on how donating to charity – whether to a Food Bank or as part of a Reverse Advent Calendar – is a really good way of doing this. We also had a discussion about the value of spending time with others (especially those who may otherwise be lonely) as well as always being ready to forgive and be tolerant of others. Using ethical beauty products as well as looking after the environment also featured in our discussion. This linked nicely to our Guided Meditation this week where we were reminded that everyone is equally important in God’s eyes. As part of our Circle Time, we thought about stewardship and how we can care for God’s creation by reducing, reusing and recycling with children thinking of examples of each.
