This week the children have learned about fasting and what it means. We should try to give up something (we like) but also try to do something extra to help others and grow closer to Jesus in Lent e.g. “I have given up cookies and cakes” Connor. “I am going to keep my room tidy so it helps mummy” Fikayo.
Amelia – I have given up time to help my mum. This has helped her as she works at night-time.
Demi – I have given up my time to play with my brother – because when he is on his own he just messes around.
Declan – I gave up some of my lunchtime when my friend was upset, I comforted him.
Sadie – Lotanna gave up her time when I was stuck in English lessons.
Josh – all of the Chaplaincy team have given up their lunchtimes, to make Lenton promises for the tree.
Evelyn – This week I have used my time to play with more people and include others who have had no one to play with.
Avarni – I have made sure to clean my room so my mum didn’t have to use her time to do it. I also used my time to clean my sisters room!
Matilda and Lily – Both helped their mums with the washing up and cleaning this week, in time they would have used to play a game.
