Yesterday, our school as well as all of those in the CMAT celebrated the Feast of St Thomas Aquinas. We all loved watching the liturgy led by Tom Shannon. This really helped us to think about all of the things that we’re grateful for.

We also thought about the cardinal virtues that Miss Bolam taught us in her assembly. Year 6 felt so inspired that they create posters. Miss Dodd loved the way that we learnt it. Here it is: Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance can be remembered as PRAYING JUST FEELS TERRIFIC!

As you can see, we made lots of posters all about the cardinal virtues and how we can live like St Thomas Aquinas.

Happy Feast Day to everyone – we hope that you enjoyed it just as much as we did!

Kim – Miss Bolam taught us a cool saying to help us remember the cardinal virtues. I think the words are hard to remember but ‘praying just feels terrific’ helped me a lot. 🙂
Callum – I enjoyed singing the hymn my lighthouse in the liturgy from the briars, we sing it at school too! They had different actions to us so I liked learning them.
Lili M – I found out that St Thomas Aquinas lived in a monastery as a child! I recognised the picture in Miss Bolam’s video as Mount St Bernard’s because I have been on a walk there and visited the shop.
Bruno – Justice links to our Year 6 Gospel Value! Someone I think who lived by St Thomas’s virtues was St Thomas More because he stood up for what he believed in when Henry 8th want his support to allow divorce. He was beheaded because of it. But he was a good example of prudence, justice, fortitude and temperance because he served God not the King. 😀
