Hi, my name is Eve and I’m from Saint Martins. I passed my level 1 in BSL (British Sign Language) in November 2020. I learnt to sign as I’m being tested for Autism and one of the things I struggle with is communication. So, I learnt to sign to help myself communicate with my friends in times of need or just day to day things I may need within my life.
I’m a huge believer in equality as both me and my siblings have been bullied so I believe that just because your deaf, autistic, mute or just have social anxiety, it doesn’t make you any different from anyone else, it’s the same as looks! We are all made in Imago Dei and have the rights to be treated the same as anyone else, we should all be supporters of each other, no bully’s, we were all set on a mission to make the world a better place and to change the lives of those who are in poverty, who are persecuted and for those that don’t feel like that belong because of a difference.
One day I hope to change the life’s of not only the people around me but globally.
One of the first thing I remember telling my mum when I started to sign was “I may not change the world in my lifetime but I need to at least make a footprint to help others in the future “
It’s not about right now it’s about changing the world and the lives of others for the better .
Join us at Saint Martins on our journey to spread the word of God and the word of sign and change the world FOREVER!
