Today, our wonderful Year 5 and 6 chaplains led a beautiful liturgy to celebrate the Feast of St Joseph. We thought about how we a thankful for our key workers during the pandemic and learnt all about St Joseph’s trust in God.

David told us all about the 4 dreams of St Joseph that Bishop Patrick mentioned to us during the first Feast of St Joseph where all of our CMAT schools joined him for Mass. Declan led us in a reading from the Gospel of Matthew where we heard about the first appearance of Joseph in the Bible. This was when the Angel appeared to Joseph to tell him to stay with Mary and support her.

You can watch our liturgy here:

Remember that your mission is to create a portrait of St Joseph to celebrate the year that has been dedicated to him.

When commenting on our blog below, think about:

  • What did it make you think about?
  • How did it make you feel?
  • What are you going to do as a result?

Thank you, chaplains, for such a beautiful liturgy. The music was extremely powerful and Miss Mason felt filled with gratitude when she received her rose!
Vera: The liturgy made me think about how important it is to work hard – working is another way of praising God.
God will always give us chances in life to make small or even big sacrifices and through making these sacrifices, I am making God happy.

    Miss Dodd’s class:

We really enjoyed the time for reflection, and it was nice to have something on the screen to focus on if we didn’t want to close our eyes to reflect.
It made us feel thankful for St Joseph who stayed committed to Mary after being visited by angel in his dreams. We now want to visit the display board and read about the other dreams too.
Max, Kacper and Taku are eager to create their portraits of Saint Joseph to fulfil their mission, and the rest of the class are looking forward to visiting the statue and leaving their worries and prayers under the resting head of St Joseph, just like Pope Francis does.

The liturgy was a calming experience that made us feel joyful and happy. The rose we gave to the teacher’s was a nice gesture.

Thank you, chaplains, for such a lovely liturgy. Miss Cooper felt very emotional and thankful for her rose.
Costa: It made me feel calm and peaceful and taught me how to become closer to the Holy Spirit.
Stacey: The first song they played reminded me of when Joseph wanted to leave Mary, but he had a strong faith so he decided to stay by her side.
Michalina: My mission is to be like St. Joseph this week.

We really enjoyed the liturgy yesterday. We loved the last hymn, which was when the saints go marching in, we got up and marched to remind us to live just like the saint did.
Marlon: It taught us about how St Joseph did wonderful things to help Jesus and Mary.
Thomas: It made me feel that Jesus is close to us and Joseph cared for her. I felt happy.
Daisy: I am going draw St Joseph to help me to remember him

In Mrs Taylor’s class we said that the Liturgy made us think about the fact that Joseph is special to us and that he was a good father to Jesus. Joseph was a carpenter and a hard worker. “It made me think about my own dad and how is great to me like Joseph was to Jesus.”

“It made me feel sad because Joseph died when Jesus was still young.”

“We could pray to St. Joseph and tell people about him.”

“We could help people like Joseph helped Jesus.”

Reggie: It reminds me of the work St Joseph did and that we should carry out acts of kindness in his name.
Atrisa: it made me feel grateful to learn about St Joseph’s hard work; now it is our turn to pass on the message.
Lili M: It made me think about how much courage St Joseph had and how we could embrace that courage to do God’s work.
Ivin: The liturgy reminds me of the teachers’ hard work. St Joseph took time to teach Jesus just like our teachers do, taking time to plan amazing lessons.

    Thank you from 6KT! 🙂
