This week, we heard from Luke’s Gospel:
Jesus said to his disciples to look how the wild flowers grow: they do not work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers. …
So do not start worrying: Where will my food come from? Or my drink/ or my clothes/ Your Father in heaven knows that you need all these things. Instead, be concerned about everything else with the Kingdom of God and he will provide all these other things.
So do not worry about tomorrow; it will have enough worries of its own. There is no need to add to the troubles each day brings.
The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus is telling us that really we can’t grow to be the person he wants us to be if we’re always worrying. We should be able to trust in God and trust one another. Sometimes though, for whatever reason, we are unable to trust some people. We should pray for people who aren’t able to trust anyone and ask God in our own hearts to help them find someone they can talk to, someone they will be able to trust.
This week’s mission, therefore, is to show trust in others, including God.
Let us know in the comments how you have achieved this week’s mission.

This year Year 3 have trusted their friends not to hurt them or say unkind words and be mean. We have trusted our families to have good relationships. We also trust our parents to look after us everyday. Some of us have trusted friends, brothers and sisters with our toys when we have shared. In class we have trusted our partners to help us. We have also put our trust in God to help us, through our prayers.
In Year 1, some of us trusted our brothers and sisters with our electronic devices. Some trusted their parents to keep a promise – and they did! Some trusted others to help them with the equipment.
In year 5, we had many ideas regarding the idea of trust. We said that we should be able to trust our friends to listen to us when we need them to. We discussed putting our trust in God to help us and lead us down the right path. We also mentioned trusting our parents when they tell us to do things and trusting teachers to show us how to reach our full potential.
In Year 6 we spoke about how trust is the basis of all of our relationships for example with friends, parents, siblings and teachers. When we trust someone, and they trust us, we can confidently be ourselves. We also said that we put our trust in God to guide us and look after us all through our lives. Trust makes us feel cared for and respected and that we always have people to look out for us.
Year 2 have put their trust in their friends today to give them the correct directions when walking through a maze that they created in maths. The children have put their trust in their family at home to make the correct decisions. We also talked about putting our trust in God when asking for help.
In Foundation Stage we have trusted our friends this week. We trust they will help us and they will always be there if we feel sad to cheer us up. We trust our parents to keep us safe and help us every day. We trust them to make us feel better when we get scared. We trust the adults in school. We know they will help us especially if we feel sad. We trust that Jesus listens to our prayers and loves us very much.
Year 4 talked about times that they have trusted their friends to help them make good choices at school and at home. They talked about when they have trusted their parents to support them when they were teaching them to swim. They talked about how they trusted the teachers to keep them safe. They said that it wasn’t always easy to trust people especially if they don’t know someone. They talked about how people put their trust in Jesus and how we too could do that in our lives to make us and others better people.
