On Wednesday we came together virtual for our CTK Weekly Word assemblies with Mrs Marshall and Mrs Glassford where we learned all about what it means to be a witness of Jesus Christ.

Our mission for this week was to draw an ascension image with thought bubbles of what the disciples might have said, felt and thought at the time, and what you would have thought if you had been there too.

Please could you comment below, answering the following questions:

  1. What the assembly made you think about
  2. How the assembly made you feel
  3. What you might do as a result to be a witness of Jesus

The assembly made the class think about how amazing Jesus is
The assembly made the class feel in awe of Jesus
The class said they would fill out thought bubble stating how the disciples would have felt.

    6KD:
It made me think about the feelings of the disciples at this time and what emotions they might have experienced.
It made me wonder how would they have reacted? Were they surprised?
They could have felt worried that they might never see him again – but we know that He promised them that He would come again.

To be a witness, we can spread the word of God just like St Stephen did: we can stand strong in our faith, not be afraid to spread the Good News even if we get hate for it.

Jean: The assembly made me think about how Jesus sacrificed his life for us. Lots of people witnessed this and this is how we know.
Mateusz: I thought about the ascension to heaven. Jesus’ closest friends, the disciples, witnessed this.
Alexa: It made me think that I am a witness of Jesus’ love.
Neve: It made me feel happy and realise that Jesus is everything.
Stephy: It made me feel special because we were able to be witnesses of Jesus’ love and kindness.
Oscar: As a result of the assembly, I will spread the Good News of Jesus’ ascension.
Nico: The assembly made me feel happy. Jesus loves us.
