On Friday 21st May we celebrated Pentecost in school, all students and staff were encouraged to come in dressed representing a nation. This was an opportunity for students with family history in other parts of the world to show some dress associated with that country. Or students could come in red, orange or yellow to represent the fire of the Holy Spirit.
“They saw tongues of fire…all were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues… pilgrims from every nation came under heaven and heard their own languages” Acts 2 v1-13
We raised £525.00.
Connor: I learnt that Pentecost is everyone’s birthday and that the Holy Spirit gives us fruits and gifts. At Saint Martin’s we learned that Jesus created the Holy Spirit so we could all share it and keep it safe. He also gave it to us so we could be happy and spread happiness by doing good things.
