Mark 4: 26-34 “The Kingdom of God is like a seed sown in the ground.”
This week, Mark explained to us some of Jesus’ descriptions of the Kingdom of God. This week is also Refugee week, the theme of which is “We cannot walk alone”. We were encouraged to work towards God’s Kingdom on earth through walking alongside those who most need welcome, love and compassion.
We learned how Jesus described God’s Kingdom as a mustard seed, which could be watered and looked after to produce a huge tree. We thought that we could all be small mustard seeds, where if we all did our little bit, our community could grow into a huge tree.
Although we may not know refugees and it might seem difficult for us to accomplish helping them, we can practice being loving, compassionate and welcoming with people we do interact with so that is our mission for this week- Find ways of working for the Kingdom of God by being welcoming to others.
