Mark 10: 2 – 16 “Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.”
In this week’s Gospel, we look at how Jesus would have opposed the 15th Century proverb ‘children should be seen and not heard’, as demonstrated in this week’s Gospel. Jesus welcomes children despite others trying to keep them away. Jesus commends the open-heartedness of children, which is explored in this assembly through an interactive film about how trusting God can lead to peaceful, loving decisions.
Our mission this week:
This week we enter into October – a month dedicated to the Holy Rosary. It’s a reminder that we can look to Mary not only as an example, but also as a friend who prays with us when we need her the most. Think about who you want to pray for at the moment and take some time this week to come to pray with Mary.

This week, we have been taking time to pray for different people in our lives. Here are some of the examples of who we have been praying for –
Grandparents who we miss
Mum because she is always working and praying that we get chance to spend time together
Dad who hurt his shoulder so praying that he feels better quickly
Little cousin because she’s sick and hoping she feels better soon
Pets that are unwell or unhappy
For our friend so that they would have a brilliant birthday
