For Lourdes Day we wore blue and brought 50p for a fundraiser, to help people go to Lourdes in France, to visit the cave where Saint Bernadette saw Mary. People go to Lourdes every year, sort of like a pilgrimage. Going to Lourdes can be expensive, which is why we did our fundraiser, to help people afford to go to Lourdes. The chaplaincy team made booklets of the cave in Lourdes, telling other children interesting facts like how Saint Bernadette saw Mary 18 times altogether.
For Lourdes Day we also made rosary bracelets. We had one colour for the Hail Mary, one colour for the Our Father and one colour for the Glory Be. We then took them to our classroom and in class we said the Rosary together.
