John 21: 1 – 4 Jesus said to them: “Come and have breakfast.”

Having faith can be tough. It means believing in something that you can not know for certain and in a world where there is almost an answer for everything this can be difficult. Have a think about your faith and what you believe in. This week we celebrate the English Martyrs – people who died for their faith – they inspire us to hold on to what we believe and to share that faith with others. What do you find it hard to believe sometimes – what inspires you in your faith?
In our Gospel reading this week, the disciples didn’t recognise Jesus, because it was dark. But because they had faith, they trusted Him and followed His instructions, which brought in an incredible catch of fish – much more than they needed!
Our mission this week is to Think – Who is Jesus to you?

This week’s mission has given us all an opportunity to think about who Jesus is to us. Having reflected on this question in Circle Time, Year 3 have understood that Jesus means so many different things to people, and everyone has their own beliefs and feelings about Jesus. Some people believe that their faith brings them closer to Jesus when they pray, fast, do charitable works and sing. For others, hearing or reading the word of God can bring them closer to Him. Through sharing fellowship, good times, and difficult times, we can call to Jesus and have faith He is with us. Jesus is the source of our faith because Jesus is the son of God.
Who is Jesus to you? In Year 6B we spent a few minutes discussing this question. Responses included: my saviour, my shepherd, my friend, my guide, my teacher and also someone we follow.
Year 4 have shared how their faith can give them comfort in times of need. In our liturgy, we spoke about who we know that has a strong faith that we look up to and admire. Having faith in Jesus means that we are never alone.
