Bishop Patrick encourages members of the Nottingham Diocese to be Missionary Disciples. He reminds us that with the strength of the Holy Spirit we can be faith-filled and outward looking as we bear witness to the difference Christ can make in our lives.
Daniel very articulately explains a practical way we can fulfil the role of be a missionary disciple. He calls us to create a chain of kindness. One random act of kindness will have a trickle effect on others and this kindness can be multiplied. Each one of us can be an important link in this chain of kindness.

Year 4
Isobel – My sister has played with me often, so I will try and play with others too.
Gabriella – my friends greet me in the morning which makes me feel loved, so I will pass this love on.
Annie – My siblings help me when I am hurt, so it inspires me to help others too.
Lucy – encouraged me to keep going with my DT when it wasn’t going to plan, so I will encourage others too.
Evalina – grandad takes care of me, which makes me want to take care of grandad in return.
In Year 5 we wrote down ways we could be kind to form a paper chain of kindness. David, Ronan, Tia and Dennis will help with the dishes and around the house. Faye will encourage people and Dahlia will listen to anyone who has a problem. Oliver and Aanya have resolved to speak only kind words. Quite a few members of the class have decided to be kinder to their brothers and sisters!
Year 2
I have played with other people this week that I wouldn’t normally play with.
I didn’t let my brother get in my bed at first and then I remembered the mission and he got in and we went to sleep together.
I washed the pots at home because my mum was getting stressed.
Yesterday when I had finished my training session and when I got home, instead of watching TV like I wanted to, I let my sister choose the game she wanted and we played outside.
At the weekend when my sister was upset I played with her to cheer her up. Then we gave each other hugs.
Yesterday I went to the park after school. I let my sister have all the turns on the slide because it makes her happy. Seeing her happy makes me happy.
This morning my brother couldn’t reach the tap to get the water so I stopped what I was doing to get him a drink.
In Y6:
Teddy’s mum bought him a gift, in return he bought something his brother really wanted!
Thomas was complimented at football for a great pass, he gave a compliment to someone else. He later witnessed this person passing on a further compliment. The ripples spread wider!
Maddy’s cat licked her, so she gave her cat lots of hugs and love in return.
Arwen’s mum bought her a treat and in return she gave her father a foot massage when he came home from work.
Kacper’s friend bought him a gift, so he gave them one in return.
Someone made Marco smile and this made Mrs D happy. So she smiled at other people.
When Jonny helped Daniel after he had hurt his ankle, Daniel is now planning a treat for his family.
Billy said thank you when he was offered a lift to a party.
