Knowledge is a Holy Spirit. It might sound very simple but you’ll often hear people say “knowledge is power”. When you take the time to learn about the world around you, you can start to see just what God has created for us. When you learn something new you grow as a person.

Our Mission – Think this week about how much you learn at school and what you can learn. Take the time to ask a question or read a book and improve your knowledge this week.

Individual children in Y6B were keen to share how they had improved their knowledge this week. One child visited the library after school on Tuesday and Wednesday. Another child has completed some additional maths work (in preparation for secondary school) at home. While, a third child has researched Neil Armstrong after a debate with her peer. This child had applied what we had been learning about non-chronolgoical reports in English to present her information about this famous astronaut. A fourth child talked about asking questions – e.g. the meaning of a word in his reading book – so as to deepen his knowledge. Well done Year 6!

In mission circles, we discussed the different types of knowledge that people can obtain. You can gain knowledge from books ( like from the Bible ) or from a person. The Holy Spirit can also give us a gift of being able to understand the Lord and to understand the Bible – it’s one of the Lord’s gifts. This week in Year 6, pupils have gained knowledge of algebra and formulae, just-so stories and more.
