Hope is an expectation and desire for the things that are to come in the future. It is a powerful virtue that can help us to persevere through difficult times. In the season of Advent, we hope for the coming of Jesus and that he will bring peace, joy and love to the world.

Our mission this week

Think of a reason that you have to be hopeful. Share that hope with someone this week.

In our Pupil Led Liturgical Prayer this week, Year 6 were asked to identify something they hoped for someone else. We ended our time of prayer by annonymously sharing these. This was really powerful as the children heard what others are hoping for them. In Circle Time, the children discussed their aspirations for the future with Miss Potter and Miss Harry. In class, we have also discussed what we hope for our brothers and sisters. The children’s hopes included the following: people in need will find joy; people in hospital will know God’s peace and experience his healing power; everyone around the world will have access to safe drinking water; and the children at Rainbows Children’s Hospice (who we are raising money for during Advent) will have a good time this Christmas.
