On Monday, the children shared a beautiful Celebration of the Word with a focus on Caring for those most in need. This is one of the key Catholic Social Teaching Principles and part of CTK’s Mission to ‘Love One Another as I have loved you’ through C – Caring for each other.
We were lucky enough to have Kelly from Braunstone Foodshare join for our Celebration and talk to the children about their work at BInspired which supports the local community in providing food and necessities.

Together, we reflected on what we can do to support and care for those most in need. We thought about how we do no just raise money, but instead we can pray, raise awareness and speak out.

This week, the children were invited to carry out a mission. On the Infants, Year 2 ask that all children bring in one item for the Braunstone Foodshare:

In KS2, the Year 6 gave a mission for children to bring in change and coins for our local charity of ‘Toys on the Table’ whom we support annually during our Advent and Christmas period.

We look forward to hearing back from our classes and seeing how they have carried out the mission.
Look out for later in the week, when our Mission and Charity Ministry team from the Chaplains are going to be looking at how we can care for those most in need internationally!
