Over the last two weeks, our Mission and Charity Ministry have been researching and exploring how we can live out our Mission and to ‘Love One Another as I have loved you’. On Thursday, they had a zoom call with Sr Emanuela from the Missionaries of Divine Revelation over in Rome.

She explained to the ministry group about a community of 115 orphan boys in Ibadan, Nigeria. The Bosco Child Protection Centre Ibadan provides and offers homeless and abandoned youth safe shelter, nutritious meal, medical cares, support services, etc. However, they rely entirely on the generous donations given. Naturally, at this time, they struggle to secure the funds needed for the children.
Their hope is to provide food, water, clothing, and facilities to foster a safe environment and reduce street involvement. Sr Emanuela spoke about some of the real experiences of these children from age 5-16 years old.
The Mission and Charity Ministry asked some fantastic questions and have spoken about how they wish to support this cause. To begin with, our children at CTK hope to raise awareness about this group and join together in prayer with the whole CTK community. They are beginning to look at ways in which they can raise money as we progress through this academic year.
In the meantime, we wish to invite the entire school community at Christ the King, to place the Don Bosco group in Ibadan, in their prayers.
