‘He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up.’ (Mark 1: 29-39)

This week, Mark tells the story of Jesus curing Simon’s mother in-law, and how quickly news spread about Jesus the healer – He had the whole town knocking on His door! Mark also tells of Jesus’ commitment to praying at all times. We learn that prayer was important to Jesus, and so it should be important to us too!

Our mission this week: Prayer is a way to find guidance from God. Just like Jesus, we can tell God all our worries and concerns, as well as things that we’re happy about and thankful for.  Take some time this week to talk to God through prayer and share something that you are thankful for.

For us, prayer is important because we are talking to God. We can talk to God if we have any worries in the playground and ask for help. We are thankful for many things. We are thankful for our parents because they take care of us always. We are thankful for God because he is always with us. We are thankful for our families because they always protect us. We are thankful for our school because they help us figure out stuff we don’t know. We are thankful for our teachers because they are always really kind and helpful. We are thankful for our teddies and toys because they keep us safe at night. We are thankful for our homes because they also keep us safe. We are thankful for our families because we can sometimes get upset and angry but they will always love us.
