Just before half-term, both sites celebrated Harvest. Over 2 weeks everyone bought something in to donate to Braunstone Food Share, a food bank in our local community.
In our Harvest liturgy, each class announced what our promise would be and added this to our prayer tree. This is to remind us each day of how we will serve God.
We also heard the Scripture of Jesus feeding the 5000 and thought about how just one person can serve others. We want to follow this example and show God’s love to one another.
Our infant chaplains and some year 2 children, led our infant community, including our families, in a beautiful liturgy for Harvest. They gathered around the prayer focus and our infant chaplains opened the liturgy by thanking everyone in our community for their generosity in donating food and toiletry items for a local charity, Braunstone Foodshare.
As we have been focusing on the Catholic virtues recently, our chaplains explained that by donating something that they have and thinking about the less fortunate, they were practising the virtues of being fair and showing love for giving to charity.

In 5KS we thought that the harvest liturgy was a lovely way to end our half term.
Think: it made me think about everything that I have.
It made me think about people who are not as lucky as me.
It made me think about where what we have comes from and how it all comes from God.
Feel: It made me feel proud because I helped by bringing in food for our harvest offering
