During Monday’s assembly, we invited special guests from the Braunstone Foodshare to talk to us about the important work they do at their foodbank. The volunteers collect and sort the food donations and make them into parcels for families in our local area who are in need of food supplies.
As part of our Harvest Festival collection, we are asking children to bring in one or more dried or tinned food items for the Braunstone Foodshare. These are being gathered in a big collection in the school halls.
We are very lucky to have such generous families at Christ the King who always donate to our charity appeals, and we would be thankful of any donations for this cause. However, if you would like to donate specific items that the Foodshare is currently short of, these items are:
- Tinned Fruits
- Rice (any kind)
- Custard
- Rice Pudding
Please bring in any donations by Thursday 13th October to the school halls.
We will be celebrating the season of Harvest and the foods God gives to us in our Harvest Liturgies on Friday 14th October. Parents are most welcome to join us!
