We are called to be an outward looking Church – spreading the Good News just as Mary Magdalene did on that Easter morning. Pope Francis tell us that we should not look in on ourselves but instead take the Joy of the Gospel out to those people who need to hear it. This doesn’t mean just shouting bible passages at people in the street it means living our life in a way that reflects our scripture and shows people the very best of what our Church is all about.

This week in Year 4, we have been thinking about the work of the disciples in our RE lessons. We have learnt about the actions of Peter and John and also about the scripture reading where Philip speaks to the queen of Ethiopia. We have shared our thoughts about how we are disciples of Christ and how the Holy Spirit shares it’s gifts with us to help us be better people. In our circle time, we shared our different faiths and beliefs and talked about how each is individual to each person and no one should tell you that what you believe is wrong.
This week in Year 5, we talked about the different ways of sharing our faith with others. After much discussion, the children came up with some lovely ways of spreading the message to those who need to hear it. Their examples included singing, praying, writing a poem, and talking to each other.
