This week, the Key Stage 2 Liturgy focused on Earth Day and our role as stewards of God’s creation. We thought about how humans are destroying and disrespecting God’s world and discussed how we can do our part to protect it. Mr Sim’s class promised to never use more water than they needed and to always use reuseable bottles instead of single use ones. Mrs Cathcart and Miss Stapleford’s class are going to try to walk more rather than going in the car and some children have promised to eat less meat.
The whole school are going to respect God’s world by keeping it safe and beautiful by litter picking in the local area so that wildlife is not harmed by our rubbish and we can all be proud of our school and town.
All of the children made an Earth Day promise which will be displayed on the Chaplaincy Board in the hall. We asked for God’s help and strength to do everything we can to renew the face of the Earth. This linked to the work we have done this week in RE about the power of the Holy Spirit moving us to be witnesses for God.
