On Monday we came together for our CTK Weekly Word assemblies with Mrs Marshall and Mrs Glassford where we learned all about what the word ‘Remembrance’ means.
Our mission this week was to pray the eternal rest each day this week, and create a poppy for our prayer area in our classrooms.
Please could you comment below on the following questions …
- What the assembly made you think about
- How the assembly made you feel
- What you might do as a result of understanding the word Remembrance

Nelson – we learned that remembrance comes from the word “remember” and we remember all those that have died in the month of November.
Stacey: On Remembrance Day we particularly remember the soldiers that have died fighting in wars and their families. The music played was beautiful: it made me feel calm and gave me time to think about the soldiers that have died fighting for our country.
Joseph: I am going to remember to pray the eternal rest every day this month if I can.
Miss O’Brien’s Class: We are going to remember all the people who have died by having two minutes silence on Thursday. We are going to say special prayers and think about people who have died.
