Luke 1: 26 – 38

“I baptise you with water, but someone is coming, someone who is more powerful than I am, and I am not fit to undo the strap of His sandals; He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Our mission this week:

We have learnt today that:

• We are called to welcome Jesus through our words and actions, at Christmas and beyond.

• Jesus changes those who invite Him into their lives.

Joy

The third week of Advent is centered on joy. We celebrate Gaudete Sunday to remind us of the Joy of Christmas that is almost here. It’s a great chance to think about what brings us joy in our lives and to give thanks for it. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on how we can bring joy to those around us and make the world a more joyful place for everyone!

What makes you happy and brings you joy?

This week, we thought about what brought us joy; we discussed how this is in the simple things:
    – being with our family and friends,
    – helping someone,
    – making someone smile.
We also thought about how we could bring ourselves joy when we are struggling or feeling unhappy. Some of our ideas were:
    – listen to music,
    – sit quietly and reflect,
    – draw, colour or build something,
These ideas helped us to think about those that bring us joy and how we are grateful for them, and in turn – how we can bring joy to them.
