This week we will be thinking about the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. His death and resurrection are at the heart of our faith and they are the reason that we have our school and our Church today. We are called to make sacrifices too, not necessarily to give our lives, but maybe to give our time, or our love, or our compassion. Think about the people who make sacrifices for you, and what that means to you. Think about how you can make sacrifices for others this week

The children in Y6B could think of lots of ways in which they have ‘sacrificed’ their time this week. This included the following: helping at home with the cleaning and cooking, holding a baby so that another family member could prepare their bottle, helping someone who had fallen over in the playground, and using their play and/or lunch to tidy things in the classroom.
During our Mission Circles on Monday, we reflected on the sacrifice that Jesus made for us through his death and resurrection. This led us to think about how we could make sacrifices this Lenten season by giving to the needy and poor around us. When we came together in our Mission Circle on Friday, the children shared the individual sacrifices that they had made throughout the week. Examples included praying more, thinking of others before themselves, showing love , offering friendship, being kind and making better behaviour choices.
