EYFS led the whole school in a lovely liturgy about ways that we can sacrifice ourselves for others. They reminded us that sacrifice means doing things for others, giving up something we like or trying to put others first instead of thinking about ourselves. Jesus sacrificed himself for us and he wants us to sacrifice ourselves for others, not in the huge way that he did but in little ways every day.
They helped us to understand this by acting out ways we can perform these little sacrifices by helping people who are hurt, cheering up people who are sad and playing with people who are lonely.
They led us in a litany prayer thanking Jesus for His sacrifice and asking Him to help us to give ourselves to others. We thought quietly about how we could give ourselves to other people and be less selfish in our lives.
Our mission for this week was to do something to help someone else.
How have you sacrificed yourself for other people this week?
