Remembrance is an important part of our faith. We remember the saints, those who have died, and the events of our history. Remembrance helps us to reflect on how those who’ve gone before us have shaped and inspired our lives today.
Our mission this week:
Spend time in prayer to remember those people who are important to us and who are no longer with us.
Invite the children to say the name of anyone they would like to pray for this week.

This week, the children have taken time to pray for those people who are important to us but no longer with us. For some, this has been quite personal and they have remembered a close family member such as a grandparent or great grandparent that they have lost. For others, their prayers have been focussed on their brothers and sisters around the world: for example, those that have lost their lives due to fighting. In Our Circle Time this week, we used the book ‘The Whisperer’ by Nick Butterworth as a stimulus for our discussions. The children were horrified (even moreso because we have been reading ‘Windrush Child’ by Benjamin Zephaniah in English) by the discrimination shown towards the two cats, purely because they were ‘different’, and we spent some time talking about being peacemakers in situations where there is conflict.
