English Martyrs students represented the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust on Friday 11th October at Nottingham Cathedral at the Mass to celebrate the Dowry Tour of Our Lady of Walsingham, http://www.walsingham.org.uk/latest-news/follow-the-dowry-tour. The Schola Cantorum helped lead the celebration of the Glorious Mystery of the Rosary – ‘The Resurrection’. Our choir sang a psalm with a Taize refrain ‘Surrexit Chrisitus, Alleluia’ (He is risen, Alleluia) and also the ancient hymn to Our Lady in gregorian chant the ‘Salve Regina’(Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy).
Monsignor Armitage, the Rector of Walsingham said, that: ‘it was by far the best school’s and young people’s event that had happened on the whole tour’. Peter Giorgio, Director of Education has written to Mr Carney on behalf of Bishop Patrick to thank everyone involved.
Thank you to, James Noakes, our Chaplain, Mr Simeone and Mrs Bishop for organising the visit, to Tom Shannon, our Lead Lay Chaplain, for inviting us to take part and to Schola Cantorum for preparing and the leading the beautiful music.
