Advent Liturgies
Throughout Advent Years 7-10 come to the Chapel in small groups for an Advent Liturgy which focuses on some of the Old Testament Characters who ‘Wait in Joyful Hope’ for the coming of the Saviour.
The liturgies include prayers and readings and a little play performed to the rest of the group.
Year 7 think about facing their fears with the Prophet Jonah (complete with a whale!)
Year 8 consider the importance of waiting and preparing with the help of Abraham and Sarah
Year 9 think about trusting in God’s plan with Noah and his Ark
Year 10 think about their inner strength with David and Goliath
The time concludes with a Christmas quiz- opening the Christmas story up for everyone to understand the reason for the season!
