“Be watchful! Be alert!” Matthew 13: 33 – 37

The gospel story this week teaches us that Jesus came to earth for the first time at Christmas, and that He will come back in the future. The Gospel explains that, although we don’t know when Jesus will return, we should be ready for it.
Our mission this week:
This week we are going to remember that we’re waiting for Jesus to come back, and He wants us to be excited, it’s going to be a great celebration! Imagine you are having a conversation with Jesus. Can you tell Him how much you are looking forward to Him coming back? How do you feel when you haven’t seen someone for a long time and then they return?

Year 2 are really looking forward to Jesus coming back. We spoke about how we feel when we see somebody for the first time in a while. Some of the children remembered what it was like to see family and friends that they couldn’t see for a while during the pandemic, including when they came back to school!
The main feelings were excitement and happiness. Some were excited but nervous too. One child was grateful that they could see their family again. We all agreed that it was important to be prepared for whenever Jesus returns.
