As a whole class – with some children on zoom – we planned and prepared our end of unit liturgy. We decided to place a Bible, a cross and a lit candle on a green cloth along with some examples of our work from this unit.

Lucy offered to introduce our liturgy. She welcomed everyone and reminded us about our learning from this unit; she then led us in the sign of the cross. Mathumeetha suggested we listened to St Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians 13. She read this beautifully.
We took time to reflect on Paul’s letter and wondered how different the world would be if everyone followed his words. Noah said there would be no more war and Wiktoria said we would all be equal.

Amrik led us in the Our Father. He said he had this idea since the Bible is all about God’s promises (in the Old Testament) and then how these promises were fulfilled (in the New Testament).
Joel wrote and read out his idea of how we should ‘go forth’. He said that, as we have been learning about the Bible, we should be like Jesus and be kind. He asked us all to think how we can be kind to others. He even gave us a few examples.
Finally, Filip thanked everyone for joining our liturgy and led us in our school prayer.
Christ be with me wherever I go, Christ around, above, below.
We then ended with the sign of the cross and listened to ‘Follow me’ – suggested by Noah and Daniella.
