After months of being separated, all of the St Clare’s pupils and staff were finally able to come together in the hall for assembly!
Mrs Beer led us in this prayer for the new school year:
We then heard this reading from the prophet Isaiah:
But the Lord says,
“Do not cling to events of the past or dwell on what happened long ago.
Watch for the new thing I am going to do.
It is happening already—you can see it now!
I will make a road through the wilderness
and give you streams of water there…”
Mrs Beer talked to us about how the new school year is the chance for a new start. To make new friends, to learn new knowledge and skills, to try hard in lessons we perhaps didn’t try our best in last year and to get to know new teachers and new classmates. Everyone was given the mission of saying hello to one of our new members of staff or one of our new pupils.
We finished by singing “My Lighthouse” – a favourite among the pupils – and it was simply wonderful to hear them all singing it joyfully together!
