Luke 3: 15 – 16, 21 – 22 “You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you.”

Our mission this week:
Today we have learnt today that:
• The Holy Trinity (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) was revealed at Jesus’ baptism.
• Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist marked the beginning of His ministry of sharing the Good News.
• Through Jesus we are invited into God’s family and called children of God.
Discipleship
Being a disciple means following a teacher or a way of life, it’s where we get the word discipline from. It reminds us that to follow Jesus we have to live like him and shape our lives in a way that reflects who he was and what he taught. This week we celebrate the Baptism of Jesus which marked the start of his active ministry. That ministry would go on to change the whole world and just like then, we are called to be disciples of Jesus today. Your mission this week is to tell someone else about Jesus. What would you share? Who would you tell?

We have been sharing the good news of Jesus with our friends and our families. We can share with them the story about Jesus being baptised. Many of us have been baptised as babies and we shared this special event with our families.
We can tell people to follow in the footsteps of Jesus because he is a perfect example of how to live our lives. These are things that we do to try and be like Jesus:
-We listen to his word.
-We read the bible.
_ We are kind to each other.
-We help those less fortunate than ourselves.
– We forgive others when they do something that makes us upset.
