This weeks liturgy was led by our Year 3 chaplaincy Team with the help of Mr Gallagher. They chose a lovely listening activity to help us remember this weeks theme.

Our mission this week is to listen to what God might be calling us to do. Let me know this week what God called you to do.

This week Reception class have thought about what it means to listen. We decided we need to listen to our grown ups so we can be safe and learn. We need to listen to our friends so we can play fairly together and try and listen to and hear God in prayer. We really focused on this during Meditation.

This week, children in Year 1 went outside for their child led liturgy, and children were asked to sit and listen to what God was calling them to do. We also listened to our rosary videos and the other sounds around us.

    Response to our mission:
Ivy – “We have been listening to each other and listening to God.”
Lulu – “We have been listening to the teachers and stories about God in the classroom.”
Josiah – “Some of us have been listening to God. I have been listening to God and he told me to be kind and be nice.”

Josh – I listened this week as I did not understand long division but I listened carefully and now feel much happier about it. People listened to me when I said I did not understand and helped me.
Jamie – I listened to my friend when they were trying to help me in PE to play hockey.
Evan – I felt welcomed as people listened to me when I talked about getting my braces and they were really nice about it, which made me feel happy.
Sadie – I was walking to school and listening to each other with my friends to make sure that everyone felt included and had a chance to speak.
Demi – I was listened to when I was feeling sad, Lotanna listened to me and tried to make me feel better. This made me feel like she really cared for me.

Sophie – God has been calling me to do the right thing and help the homeless.
Huey – I should always do the right thing and follow in his footsteps. Listen to others when they are talking.
Alfred – by helping and listening to others.
Jasiel – every night I pray with my brothers and my mum and I listen to what God is saying to me in my heart.
Charlie H – if you want to be a good listener, then listen properly and think before you speak.
Monri – by doing the right thing even when it is hard because I don’t like always listening to my mum.
Nimi – when someone is talking I always listen to them because they might be telling me something I’ve wanted to know for a long time.

Ted said “I listened to God and thought he might be telling me to be kind and Elodie said “God tells me to listen and learn”. When Ronnie listened to God he thought that he was being told “to work hard” while Jeremiah said that when he listens to God he is being called to be respectful.

Demola – I listened through school, to help me learn and so I could help others and they listened to me.

Jessica – I listened to what my mum was saying and helped her at home when she needed it.

Annie – I listened to God, I heard him when we were in silence in our meditation and through our child led liturgy.
