These week’s theme is ‘awe and wonder’.
We talked about what this means – being amazed by something, appreciating something, asking questions about something.
We looked at this psalm:
We then had 5 minutes of awe and wonder as we watched a video of some of God’s incredible creation: 100 Most Beautiful Places on Earth 4K with Relaxation Music (youtube.com)
You could hear the awe and wonder in the hall as the children gasped, ooed and aahed at the beautiful images.
We talked about how you do not need to go to exotic places to experience the awe and wonder of our world. You can go in your garden, or into the school grounds and find awe and wonder in a butterfly or a simple flower, or the clouds int eh sky or the sound of a bird.

Year 5 have been discussing the beauty of God’s world and the need to look after it a lot this week especially in our RE topic in which we have been learning about being Stewards of Creation. We have spoken about the beauty of nature and the uniqueness of all of God’s creations. Emily C sent in photos of some flowers she thought were especially beautiful!
In Year 2 we walked around the school grounds to look at everything and talked about what we thought was amazing. Some children were amazed at the differences in the leaves on the trees and bushes. Others liked the tiny daisies and buttercups nestled amongst the grass. We noticed God’s tiny insects and how perfectly they are created through the magnifying glass. Some of use looked at the chard, lettuce and courgettes we have planted and how fantastic that a flower can grow into something we can eat.
The EYFS children looked at everything around them this week. They noticed buildings, the colour of the sky and the flowers that had begun to blossom on their way to school and in their gardens that were beautiful.
