Year 5 Led this weeks Celebration of the Word the children all got to think about what they are giving up for Lent or doing extra and placed a pebble at the foot of the cross. Our mission this week is to try and give up some time to help someone else let me know how you get on with this.

This week the children in Reception have been thinking about how Jesus might have felt in the desert. We have talked about the things He would have had like the clothes He was wearing and the shoes on his feet but then we also talked about the things He would not have had.
The children spoke to their partner about how they might feel if they had no food for 40 day.
    “hungry”, “tired”, “lonely” and “sick”.
The children then though about what fasting means to them, we could give up food but we could also give up something else which we enjoy doing to show our love to Jesus.
Some children have given up TV time, chocolate, IPad time, and some have joined their families in not giving something up but giving things away to a charity once a week like the food bank.
