Mission: To say an extra prayer this week

This week’s word is ‘prayer’.

We heard how Jesus went to pray in the Garden of Gethsemane.

We talked about asking God for help, just as Jesus did and how we can do this in prayer.

We talked about the different types of prayer: private prayer, meditation, Lectio and Visio Divina, the Rosary, whole class prayers and traditional prayers such as the Our Father.

This week’s mission is to say an extra prayer this week. We suggested joining the chaplains in the prayer garden to say a decade of the Rosary.

Let us know in the comments how you achieved this week’s mission.

Year 2 have said extra prayers for the season of Lent this week as well as praying for the healing of the Pope. We have said grace after lunch to thank God for what we have eaten and those who have prepared it.

EYFS have spent some quiet time this week to speak to God either through thanking prayers, asking prayers or sorry prayers.

This week Year3 successfully completed their mission by praying a decade of the Rosary before our RE lesson this week, demonstrating both dedication and reverence. As we reflect on this special achievement, year 3 were inspired to follow Mary’s example by embracing prayer in our daily lives.

Year 6 spent more time in prayer through meditation this week giving us a chance to speak to God and to hear what God is saying to us. We also started our daily class prayers with a few moments of personal reflection, meaning our own intentions were delivered to God along with our whole class prayers.
