Today we held our Holidays and Holy Days Liturgy to celebrate the end of the topic.
We have been thinking about holidays with the family or special outings and about how many of us look forward to holidays, to relax and do something different.
We thought about how in the past the only holiday anyone had was a saint’s feast day or important feast days like Easter and Christmas. Some days of the year are ‘holy days’, when we celebrate these special times in the Church’s year. We have just celebrated the feast of Easter when we remember Jesus rising from the dead.
We listened to the story of Pentecost and thought about how the disciples must have felt when they received the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We sang ‘The Holy Spirit’ and ‘Spirit be with us’ by John Burland.
