During Lent, we are supporting our school community to spend more time with God, both in school and at home.
Our Travelling Lenten Cross has begun its journey around our classes. Each class has a pack which contains:
- A letter introducing the initiative
- Information about the season of Lent
- A candle
- A wooden statue of Jesus carrying the cross
- A booklet containing Our Lenten Journey prayer session
- A purple cloth
- A reflective journal
During the season of Lent, the packs will be taken home by each pupil for one night. They will use the prayer session notes with their family, record in the reflective journal – this can be how it made them feel or a prayer of their own – then return it to school for the next pupil to take it home.
In addition, every pupil has taken home a “Walk with Me” booklet. This has a short reflection for every day during Lent.
