On Wednesday 5th October 2022, Holy Cross pupils in Leicester were invited to come into school wearing something bright. Brighten Up is a campaign introduced by CAFOD for Harvest this year and Holy Cross decided to support this worthy cause.
During a special liturgy, led by the chaplaincy team, the school learnt about CAFOD’s work and were invited to think about the current food crisis and how they could make a difference to those in need – especially the hungry.
As part of the liturgy, the pupils were given the opportunity to reflect on the following passage:
“For I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you have me a drink; I was a stranger and you welcomed me into your homes.”
