This week’s word is ‘Eucharist’. We talked about how this is when we celebrate the Last Supper during Mass.

We heard this scripture:

Jesus shared his last meal with the people he loved. Meals are a big part of Christian celebrations – we eat a Christmas Dinner with family and celebrate Easter with a feast.

Just as Jesus shared a meal with those he loved, your mission this week is to do just that.

Let us know in the comments below who you shared a meal with and why.

The children in EYFS have shared a special meal throughout the week every lunchtime with their friends who they care about. They have also made a great effort to share a meal every day with their families. This made them happy and joyful because this was special time for them to talk to each other also.

Year 2 discussed the meals that they had shared at home this week. They talked about how they had all sat as a family, shared food and talked together about what they had been up to. We said that this was important so that we are spending tine with the people we love like Jesus did at the last supper.

In Year One we have talked about how lovely it is to share a meal with our family . We can show our love by sharing this time and talking to each other about our day. We remembered how Jesus shared a special meal with his friends at the Last supper.

Year 5 discussed the different meals of the day and how we might share these with different people we love. Breakfast with siblings before school, lunch times with friends, and evening meals at home spending time with our whole family. We also spoke about meals that are important to us such as the ones we share at Christmas or other special occasions. Meals also bring back memories as we thought about special meals we have shared with people over the years such as with grandparents.
