This week’s word is “beginning”. We talked about how this means to start something.

We began at the very beginning of the Bible with the story of Creation from Genesis.

We discussed that we were at the start of a new academic year – the school’s 50th – and how that was a new beginning – a time of fresh starts.

We talked about different fresh starts we could make:

  • working hard in a subject you find difficult
  • keeping your bedroom tidy
  • making friends with someone you had fallen out with
  • getting ready for school quickly so that you are on time every day

Your mission this week is to promise to do something differently. Let us know in the comments how you achieve this week’s mission.

In year 5 we had a discussion about what we would like to differently, most children spoke about wanting to try harder at their hobbies and interests. Phoebe said she wants to try going to sleep earlier so she feels less tired, Lola said she wants to work harder at school especially science and she also wants to be a better role model for her brother now that he has started school. George wants to try being nicer to his siblings.
