‘Prepare the way for the Lord,

    make straight paths for him.’

As we enter this second week of advent we focus on “getting ready.” We think about how John the Baptist prepared the people for the coming of Jesus. He told them to prepare their hearts and to say sorry for the wrong they had done. We too must prepare for the birth of Jesus, saying sorry to others if we have caused them sadness or hurt. As we light the second candle we focus on the theme of Peace that is signified by the second purple candle. Our mission therefore for this week and the next two weeks is to be the best person we can be, ready to accept Jesus into our hearts at Christmas and spreading peace wherever we are. Try to show some kindness and love to those around you.
