“Prepare a way for the Lord, make His paths straight!” Mark 1: 1-8
The gospel story this week teaches us that John the Baptist told people that they needed to prepare their hearts to meet Jesus. They needed to say sorry for the wrong things they had done. Then they were forgiven, which means all the wrong things they’d done were forgotten about. To be ready for Jesus to come back, we need to prepare our hearts by saying sorry, loving God and loving others.
This week we are going to try hard to say sorry when we make a mistake. Sometimes saying sorry can feel difficult, especially when our feelings have been hurt – it can cost us and hurt our pride. God calls us to say sorry not because He needs us to, but because He knows that saying sorry will make us right with Him. Being right with God means we can live our best lives! How can we show that we are truly sorry?
