On Wednesday we hosted our first parish mass of the Advent Term. Those of us who were chosen to read, in our own little bubble, can personally say that it felt amazing. We were back in Church!
One of the most special things was, that our whole school were watching on our lead chaplains (Tom Shannon) YouTube channel. We also sent the link to parents.
The theme of our mass was Advent and preparing for Jesus’ birthday. It was a shame that we couldn’t have the whole school attend, hopefully we can soon.

It was really nice that we could still watch mass even though we weren’t there. The delay gave us time to think about what they had just said. I like the prayers that were said about Advent. We had a really good view of everything from the top . Fr. Chris was very kind and chatting to the children. It would have been nicer if we were actually in church but please God that will happen soon.

We enjoyed watching Father Chris for the first time as a school.
We really missed the singing of hymns but we know why we can’t do that yet.
It was great to see children that we know leading the Mass.
Watching Mass online was lovely, for some children in Foundation this was their first experience of Mass. Even though we couldn’t fully experience Mass as we would usually, it was lovely to see Fr. Chris who we have already met during our assemblies on teams. We enjoyed listening to the prayers and hopefully we will be able to experience Mass in Church soon!
It was wonderful to see the Year 6s reading at Church. It was really fun to see Father Chris on the screen. It was nice when Father Chris let the Year 6s read. It was good to attend Mass online and it we hope to have one altogether soon.
Year 1 really enjoyed watching Mass in Church and it provoked a discussion afterwards as they began to remember what Mass was like in Church. They loved seeing their It was lovely to see Father Chris and the Year 6 children – several of the children were excited to see their brothers and sisters reading in the service.
