St Clare’s was closed today because of snow, but we still had our Mission assembly virtually over Teams.
Mrs Beer talked to us about Bishop Patrick’s theme of Discipleship for this term. We heard the story of how the first disciples were chosen and how they had prospered by listening to Jesus.
This week, children are going to listen carefully to other people: their parents, their teachers, their friends and other members of their families. By listening carefully, they will be more like Jesus which is what we mean by Discipleship.
We look forward to everyone completing their mission and sharing how they have achieved it in the comments section below.

In our live RE lesson today we listened to the Feast Day Celebrations for St. Thomas Aquinas and enjoyed talking about who we are thankful for. We all listened to each other and took it in turns to share speaking our thought after. In year 3 we have listened to our parents when they have told us to do our work. We have listened to Mrs Kotarba in our live lessons really well. We listened to school Liturgy and heard our mission. In English we have listened to Mrs C and collected lots of words to help us in our writing. We have shown that we are beginning to understand what discipleship means.
I have listened to Mrs Beer in all of the live lesson’s so that I can make sure that I do my best in all of my work.
The children in the Year 4 and Year 6 bubble have listened carefully to their teachers and their peers at home during Zoom lessons. Sometimes, the connection can make it difficult to hear, so they have had to listen especially carefully. They have listened to each other’s ideas in class and also to the work the children have produced when they have read it out.
I have listened carefully to my mum and dad to ensure I complete all my lessons at home. I have listened to Mrs Beer during all the online classes. I have also enjoyed listening to to the Feast Day Celebrations for St. Thomas Aquinas. It was lovely to see those we recognised.
We listened carefully to the liturgy this morning and talked about it after.
Year 5 have been thinking about the importance of listening to each other. They spoke about times that they listened to teachers or parents and times they didn’t listen and fell over as a result.
In KS1 this week, the children have listened to Mrs Ormandy, Mr Patel and Mrs Goodman in class. The children have listened to each other when planning their liturgy and then listen to the scripture being read during their live liturgy. Today, we have listened to Bishop Patrick during Mass for the Feast of St Thomas Aquinas and to Mr Lockyer.
I have tried my best in the live lessons!!!
